About Us

The Victorian Children's Agents' Association Inc. is the voice of the most respected and reputable children's Agents in Melbourne.  Since our formation in 1985 the V.C.A.A. has been directly responsible for numerous beneficial changes in the Advertising, Film and Television Industry.  The Association continues to be actively involved in Legislation governing children working in the Entertainment Industry and works hard to obtain better conditions for those involved.

Our valued members are extremely proud of our achievements to date.

In September 1985, the major Children's modelling and theatrical agencies in Melbourne formed the Victorian Children's Agents' Association Inc.  The V.C.A.A. was established for the broad purposes of providing a forum for discussion and resolution of problems common to the junior sector of the industry, to promote the welfare of children involved, to maintain high professional and ethical standards, to represent the interests of Agencies and children in legislative, regulatory and Workplace Victoria matters, and to maintain reasonable standards of pay and conditions.

The V.C.A.A fought hard to achieve 75% of the Media Entertainment Arts Alliance adult rate of pay for child performers. As a result, it has been common practice since the late 1980's for all child extras and performers in film & television to receive 75% of the adult rate in the State of Victoria.
